We already agreed that it'll be a teleporter. Also i think that both the normal and the upgrade must be spirits(as name implies), that only become corporeal when attacking, being hit or defending. Corpse could be either a dust pile or a glowing ball.

Quetzalcoatl* ;D

If we'd take the name Ziggurat, it wouldn't make sense. The Ziggurats were sumerian, not aztec. I'd rather say the Temple or such instead.

Solar priest... /facepalm.
Thats four. FOUR.

IMO the first three creatures should be:
1. Skirmisher- Javelineer
Description: Small(goblin sized) chameleon or Sphenodon Punctatus like lizard with a spear. Upgraded becomes ranged. Fast and numerous.
Background: The warrior caste of Saurudun, these little lizards are used as main infantry. Their physical strenght is conpensated by their numbers.
2. Spirit Jaguar- Spirit Beast
Description: a spectral jaguar. Upgrade has fangs of a sabertooth tiger
Background: the spirits of these majestic beasts are summoned by the sun priests in time of battle. When they return to the spirit realm, they leave a ball of goey ectoplasm.
3. Saurus Ranger- Jungle Stalker(sorry, I just don't see that plesiosaurus thing as a unit for this faction)
Description: lizard, resembling an allosaurus. Upgraded has more armor.
Bacground: the ranger caste of Saurudun. These lizards are experts of poison and camofluage, and can be very dangerous to an unprepared oponent.

Just saying, that the plesiosaurus creature wouldn't go there IMO. It could be one of the "local fauna" neutrals, along with that tapir thing you made.
